Uganda’s diverse landscape encompasses the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains and immense Lake Victoria. Its abundant wildlife includes chimpanzees as well as rare birds. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a renowned mountain gorilla sanctuary.

Itinerary Details

On arrival at the Airport, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Overnight at your lodge.

Morning breakfast and head to the park headquarter for the briefing then you will go for gorilla trekking. You’re most likely to enjoy the closer view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngster’s frolic and swing from vines in delightfully playful display. After, we will proceed and transfer to Kalinzu Forest Reserve. Meals and accommodation at your lodge.

Kalinzu Forest Reserve is a natural tropical forest that lies in the altitude of between 1000-1500 meters above sea level and covers an area of 137km. The forest is known for its biodiversity; it has 414 tree species and shrubs, 379 bird species, 262 species of butterflies, 97 moths, reptiles and also flowers. The forest has 6 primate species like the blue monkeys, vervet monkeys, black and white colubus monkeys, L’hoest, olive baboon and chimpanzee. After breakfast, you will head for chimpanzee trekking. You will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees in Kalinzu forest reserve observing them. Afterwards, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The park is known for its wildlife, including African buffalo, Ugandan kob, hippopotamus, Nile crocodile, African bush elephant, African leopard, lion, and chimpanzee. It is home to 95 mammal species and over 500 bird species. The area around Ishasha in Rukungiri District is famous for its tree-climbing lions, whose males sport black manes. After breakfast, you will relax at your lodge and later go for sunset boat cruise drive boat cruise on Kazinga channel and later a night game drive. The Kazinga Channel is an oasis for many of the fascinating species that inhabit the park, a boat tour along it gives visitors the chance to cruise just meters from hundreds of enormous hippos and buffalos while elephants linger on the shoreline. These are situated just north of the impressive Mweya Peninsula and actually are the highest elevation in this national park. Enjoy the spectacular Crater Drive that runs on 27 km which present distant sights of the stunning crater lakes while on your way. There is plenty of wildlife to see along the drive, although commonest are sights of Buffaloes and Elephants.

Morning breakfast and go hitting hiking trails and later relaxation at the lodge. Nature treks are one of the more active ways to explore the landscapes and wildlife of Queen Elizabeth. Locations include Mweya Peninsula with its scenic views; and Ishasha River, where you may spot a variety of forest and savannah species as well as having a unique opportunity to get extremely close to hippos.
